Caring
for your piercing
Normally
we can not accept any responsibility for the advice given here take
it at your own risk!
The
most important factor for healing your piercing quickly is making
sure it doesn't become infected. This means keeping it as clean and
germ free as possible. Wash your piercing regularly with either
surgical spirit, salt water for sensitive piercing or tea tree oil
if you prefer a natural option.
Get
your piercing done by a reputable professional piercer. Try looking
in a piercing or tattoo magazine for a quality piercer near you.
Also when you go in to the premises make sure it looks hygienic and
ensure they use sterile equipment to pierce you with.
Another
factor which may affect how well your piercing heals is the metal
from which your jewelery is made and the quality of the surface
polish. Some people are allergic to certain metals. If you are
allergic to your jewelery you will notice the skin around the
piercing becoming red and inflamed. If you are worried about being
allergic to your jewelery then always buy your jewelery from our
Surgical Stainless Steel Grade 316L, and Titanium product ranges as
these are manufactured from the highest quality medical grade
metals. These metals are virtually inert and will not cause allergic
reactions hence the reason they are used in Pace makers and other
implanted devices. The surface polish also affects how well your
piercing will heal as rough surfaces irritate the healing flesh
more, slowing down the healing process and sometimes causing excess
scar tissue to be produced.
